Denis Smalley

Moments Festifs

The content of these festive moments is entirely French, drawing on Debussy’s Feux d’artifice, recordings made in Fabrezan of the 14th July fireworks, and jubilation in the street outside the Grand Café when France won the FIFA World Cup in 2018. The bell of Fabrezan’s church joins in, and Rameau and Berlioz are called on to offer gestural support.
