The Ligeti Quartet are a young, dynamic string quartet devoted to recent or brand new music, and fascinated by György Ligeti. They are making waves on the contemporary music scene and will be performing at this year’s sound festival! They will be giving an informal masterclass at NESMS before their concerts where they will be discussing some of the pieces they will be performing, looking at techniques and rhythms, and how they approach these works as an ensemble. There will be opportunity to try things out and ask questions.
This is an ideal opportunity for existing quartets and ensembles, string players, and composers to learn from and share with the Ligeti Quartet!
