SCORE! is a new music day in Scotland organised by spnm, sound and the Scottish Ensemble. This year SCORE! takes place at the sound festival in Aberdeen, led by guest composers James Clapperton, Graham Fitkin and James MacMillan.
A day of workshops, talks and one-to-one sessions open to everyone interested in new music.

Workshops and Talks
12.15 - 1.15pm | Composing in the Community
A talk on writing for amateurs and student ensembles by Graham Fitkin.

1.30 - 2.30pm | Local Composers' Workshop
A trio from the Scottish Ensemble play through and discuss works for strings by local composers. Led by James Clapperton.

2.45 - 3.45pm | Works in Progress
A unique chance to observe a workshop of new works-in-progress, which are being written by spnm shortlisted composers. Led by James MacMillan with the Scottish Ensemble under their Artistic Director Jonathan Morton. As a result of the day, two composers will be invited to complete works for future public performance by the Scottish Ensemble.

A talk and demonstration on how to write for piano by James MacMillan and James Clapperton.

One-to-One Composer Surgeries
Various times from midday onwards.
Your chance to discuss your work in a 20-minute session with James Clapperton or Graham Fitkin.
