Take part in sound collective

soundcollective is a new music project for young people in Aberdeen.

We are looking for young people aged 11-18 to take part in soundcollective a new music project based in the Torry, Tillydrone and Northfield areas of Aberdeen run by sound and Station House Media Unit in partnership with Tinderbox Collective.

We have workshops taking place in Middlefield Community Centre, Aberdeen Lad’s Club and the studio at the Youth, Sport and Leisure Centre in Torry led by local workshop leaders and musicians from Tinderbox Collective. These sessions are open to young people living near these centres and all three groups will come together to take part in a joint performance in December 2018.

During the workshops you can create and play music, work with professionals, be part of a group and take part in live events. You will also get to build your confidence, develop skills and reach your musical potential.

You don’t need to have lots of experience of music to take part in the project, just a willingness to join in the group, and get involved. The workshops will support musicians at all levels of development, even total beginners.

Instruments and any equipment needed for the sessions will be provided at the workshops. If you play an instrument already, please do bring it along to the workshops.

For more details on workshop dates and times please email participate@sound-scotland.co.uk, call sound on 01330 826526 or speak to a Youth Worker from each of the centres.

The project is being managed by sound in partnership with Station House Media Unit and Tinderbox Collective.
