soundfestival returns to Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire for ten days of new music, sound and unexpected listening experiences from 22 to 31 October 2026.
This year, we're bringing together some of the most exciting practitioners of new music from Scotland, Europe and further afield. We're delighted to welcome back familiar faces including Red Note Ensemble, Any Enemy, and Quatuor Bozzini from Montréal, alongside new artists, exciting commissions and a programme of over 30 events.
At the heart of soundfestival 2026 is our theme: Listening.
What does it mean to really listen? From intimate performances and immersive installations to workshops, soundwalks and music in unexpected places, this year's programme invites you to discover new sounds, experience music differently and pay closer attention to the world around you.
Whether you're a regular festival-goer or joining us for the very first time, there's plenty to discover, with many events free to attend.
