Matthew Herbert’s more more more was commissioned by the London Sinfonietta in 2018 and is a response to a photograph by Andreas Gursky Untitled XIII from 2002, a disturbing image of a landfill site in Mexico City.
Working with young people from Aberdeen, a rubbish collection has been sourced and will be flapped, struck, scraped and generally excited by two performers, sounds of which are captured live and looped and treated with live electronics, creating a comment on incessant consumerism.
