David Fennessy, composer / guitar
Sonia Cromarty, cello
Tim Cooper, electronics
Nicholas Bone, dramaturg

Aberdeen is a new collaboration between David Fennessy, Sonia Cromarty and Tim Cooper. Exploring the genesis of a musical instrument - a cello begun by Sonia’s father in the 1990’s but only recently completed - Aberdeen explores memory, location, objects, and family-ties.

David Fennessy, Sonia Cromarty and Nicholas Bone will join us today for an online discussion about the background of this new work and how it might develop with excerpts performed by Sonia Cromarty.

Developed with Edinburgh-based theatre company Magnetic North, Aberdeen will premiere at Spitalfields and soundfestival later this year.

Co-commissioned by Spitalfields Music and sound and developed through Magnetic North’s Artist Development Programme.
