Sound and Music Summer School

A unique opportunity for young composers and creative musicians

Purcell School of Music, Hertfordshire, 4 – 10 August 2013
Application deadline: Friday 29 March

Now in its fifth year, the Sound and Music Summer School is Sound and Music’s flagship programme helping students aged between 14 and 18 explore composition through a week-long residential course at the Purcell School of Music.

The Summer School offers students the opportunity to explore a wide array of musical styles from conventionally-notated music to vocal music and from jazz to music for film. Throughout the week participants will work with leading composers and musicians to develop their music-making skills and create a piece that will be recorded and performed at the end of the week.

All students can apply with confidence in the knowledge that we have a means-tested grant scheme for those needing help with the cost of the Summer School.
