Beethoven Five Alive! Workshop

To celebrate the BBC SSO’s performances of Beethoven’s iconic Fifth Symphony, the BBC is giving you an opportunity to become a member of an orchestra and choir, formed from scratch, to perform a new piece created by you.

What’s going to happen?

Guided and led by inspirational workshop leader Tim Steiner you’ll join some of the professional musicians of the BBC SSO and have fun exploring the music of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony. Over the 3-hour session we will create our own unique piece of music that you will perform at the end of the workshop.

Who is it for?

We’ll be forming a scratch ensemble and choir of all ages and all abilities. Whether you are a family of musical enthusiasts, learning an instrument, a top flight player, a keen amateur singer or a complete novice… all you need is enthusiasm!

Suitable for ages 7 and above. Participants aged 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult throughout the workshop.

Do I need to play an instrument?

No, but if you do, please bring it along. If not, you can sing in the choir or play percussion. No keyboard instruments will be available.
