John McLeod will conduct the whole programme, including his new guitar concerto, in which the soloist will be the brilliant guitarist Ian Watt. The concerto was commissioned on the initiative of the New Edinburgh Orchestra, jointly with the Glasgow Chamber Orchestra and Aberdeen Sinfonietta and was premiered earlier this year.
The programme will also feature Berlioz's Beatrice et Benedict Overture and Borodin's In the Steppes of Central Asia.
