Frances Cooper (soprano) was born in Inverness. She began her singing studies at the North East of Scotland Music School in Aberdeen with Raimund Herincx, continuing in London with the late Johanna Peters. She performs as a soloist in oratorio and recital throughout Scotland and sings regularly with the vocal ensemble Cappella Nova. With Dunedin Consort she has appeared at the St Magnus and Belfast at Queens Festivals and, as a member of the early music quartet, Fires of Love, at the International Guitar Festival of Great Britain, ‘Origins’ festival and the Leicester Early Music Festival. She has also performed widely with the trio Triplicity. Recordings include the choral music of James MacMillan with Cappella Nova on the Linn label, and three discs on the Delphian Records label with Fires of Love.
