Duncan Chapman: is a freelance Composer, Sound Artist, Educator and Performer. He regularly works with many of the leading music organisations in Britain including The Philharmonia Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, LSO, Royal Festival Hall, CBSO, BCMG, Wigmore Hall, Huddersfield Contemporary music festival, BBC and Sonic Arts Network. He is also a frequent traveller to more exotic locations doing projects and performances in Tokyo, Singapore, Budapest and throughout Europe. Much of his work involves collaborations with other artists and often results in sound installations, CDs and multi-media performances.
He has led Sonic Postcards projects for Sonic Arts Network all over the UK as well as at the Verbier Festival in Switzerland. Recent projects include a large scale performance on the Isle of Dogs for Trinity College of music (http://www.iodmusic.org/youarehear/), film soundtrack projects at the BFI, a sound installation for the London Sinfonietta at Kings Place and a project exploring live electronics for the Southbank Centres Stockhausen festival.
He is a contributor to MA courses at York and Limerick Universities and has given talks and run projects with many other institutions including Trinity College of Music, Royal Academy of Music, Royal College of Music, De Montfort University, Muse KK in Tokyo, Goldsmiths College, Dartington College of Arts and the Birmingham Conservatoire.
