Splitting Time, Braemar Music Festival 15th – 17th May 2020 Call out for musicians to join workshops and a pop-up strings ensemble

Graham Fitkin and Ruth Wall are returning to Braemar to curate a fascinating weekend music festival in May 2020. They are offering a fantastic opportunity to learn from esteemed, professional musicians by facilitating workshops and, for selected instruments only, participation in the concerts alongside these experienced artists. Whilst all workshops are FREE you will need to provide your own travel and meals. Refreshments will be available. Workshops are open to anyone who is the equivalent to grade 6 or above.

Workshops

CLARSACH /HARP – facilitated by Ruth Wall
This will take place from 10.00 – 12.00 on Saturday 16th in Castleton Hall, Braemar. Participants in this workshop will be expected to perform as part of the programme in the Sunday Lunchtime concert at 12 noon and attend rehearsals for this on 10 am Sunday at St. Margaret’s.

PERCUSSION – facilitated by Ensemble Bash

This will take place in the Village Hall Braemar from 10 am – 12noon on Saturday 16th May.

Pop-Up Strings Ensemble

The festival also needs string players to join a pop -up ensemble for the Saturday night concert at 8pm and the Sunday concert at noon. If you play the violin, viola, cello or double bass to grade 6 or above then we’d love to hear from you. Rehearsals will take place in the afternoon at 2pm on Saturday 16th and Sunday at 10 am in St. Margaret’s.
