Framed Against the Sky is an audience development project run by sound festival and Woodend Barn to make new music more accessible by engaging with audiences in Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen through short, flash-mob style performances and workshops in predominantly non-new music and non-arts events. The role of the project coordinator is to liaise with the artists and event organisers to develop and implement these workshops and performances, to engage with audiences and to document the project through the web and social media.
The successful candidate will have an interest in and understanding of contemporary music and audience development, excellent project management skills/experience and a commitment to access and community engagement. He/she will be highly articulate with persuasive communication skills, will be able to document the project using audio/visual equipment and via social media and the web, and be able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team. Ideally he/she will have a good knowledge of the local area, experience of working in a rural context as well as a clean driving license.
The post is a five month freelance contract from end of May-end of October. Remuneration for the post is £5,000.
