Red Note Ensemble's always entertaining Noisy Nights provide an outlet to hear emerging new musical ideas and voices.
After two years of presenting Noisy Nights online, they are finally back live and in person and we are thrilled to host their first event at soundfestival 2022.
Three Red Note musicians will perform 8 short new 5-minute works selected from the open call (details below).
The event takes place at Belmont Filmhouse on Wednesday 26 October at 9pm.
Call for Scores
Are you interested in writing a piece of music 3-5min long for Scotland’s contemporary music ensemble? Read on for more info.
- Maximum length 5 minutes
- Instrumentation: Viola, Double Bass and Vibraphone
- Only new works composed for this call will be accepted
- Deadline 10th October (9am – UK time)
Please note the scores should not include electronics or any pre-recorded parts, and when writing please consider that these concerts are rehearsed in a short time frame.
Full score and parts in PDF format to be submitted to Flore at admin@rednoteensemble.com by 9am (UK time) on Monday 10 October.
Please include full name and contact in your submission email and use the subject “Noisy Nights Sound – Application”. Late submissions will not be accepted.
A maximum of 8 pieces will be selected by a panel of musicians and composers from Red Note and sound. North-east Scotland-based composers are especially encouraged to apply. Selected composers will be notified on 14 October and the rehearsals and concert will be held on 26 October.
