Noisy Nights at sound: Call for Scores

Red Note Ensemble's Noisy Nights provide an outlet to hear emerging new musical ideas and voices.

On this occasion we have partnered with Red Note, following the success and learnings from the recent Neurotribes conference, to showcase the talent of neurodiverse composers, supporting greater inclusion in contemporary classical music.

We hope to share the selected works either as a livestreamed broadcast or with a small physically distanced audience at a concert in Aberdeen on Sunday 13 June.

Call for Scores

Are you an emerging or amateur neurodiverse composer (18+ years old) interested in writing for Red Note? Then this call is for you.

  • Maximum length 5 minutes
  • Instrumentation is Clarinet, Violin, Viola and Cello
  • New works composed for this call
  • Deadline 21 May (5PM UK time)

Please note the scores should not include electronics or any pre-recorded parts, and take into account that concerts are rehearsed and performed in a short timeframe.

Full score and parts in PDF format to be submitted online via Google forms (click here) or via email to katja@rednoteensemble.com by 5pm (UK time) on Friday 21 May. Please include your full name and contact details in your submission email. Late submissions will not be accepted.

A maximum of 5 pieces will be selected by a panel of musicians and composers from Red Note and sound. All submissions will receive feedback from our panel if requested.

Selected composers will be notified on 31 May and invited to join the rehearsals over Zoom on the 9 June.

If you have any questions or access requirements please contact Katja on katja@rednoteensemble.com. Katja will be your point of contact if you need help or advice.

Happy composing!
