Aberdeen Art Gallery and sound celebrate the re-opening of Aberdeen Art Gallery, Cowdray Hall and Remembrance Hall with the premiere performances of The Big Picture, a jointly commissioned work for this occasion from Master of the Queen’s Music, Judith Weir.

A short piece in five movements, The Big Picture is set to different poems and explores the relationship between music and colour.

The performances will be directed by Dr Roger B Williams, MBE, with assistant conductor John Horton, and performed by Con Anima Chamber Choir and local singers from Aberdeen City Music School, Gilcomstoun Primary School and Big Noise Torry with Joanna Nicholson (clarinet), Lisa Nicol (percussion) and Jeremy Coleman (piano).

Co-commissioned by sound and Aberdeen Art Gallery & Museums
