Join us on Zoom at 4pm on Sunday 13 December as we continue our series of live soundcasts keeping us connected and inspired through the winter.
As the winter solstice draws near, composer Colin Riley presents the premiere of his new work The Year's Midnight, a setting of part of John Donne’s ‘A Nocturnal Upon St Lucy’s Day', featuring the voices of Melanie Pappenheim and Jeremy Avis. St Lucy's day falls on December 13 which was considered the shortest day of the year under the old Julian calendar, still in use when Donne wrote this poem.
