Unfortunately due to recent coronavirus restrictions in the UK the planned livestreamed performance with Red Note Ensemble and Richard Watkins from Aberdeen Arts Centre today has been postponed.

Red Note Ensemble were to be joined by Richard Watkins to premiere a reworking of Philip Cashian's Scenes from the Life of Viscount Medardo originally written for horn and piano alongside new works by Rylan Gleave and Aileen Sweeney.

Instead we will share a recording of the original version of Philip Cashian's Scenes from the Life of Viscount Medardo performed by Richard Watkins (horn) and Joseph Havlat (piano). The piece tells the story of Viscount Medardo of Terralba, a character in Italo Calvino’s short story The Cloven Viscount.

Afterwards Richard Watkins and composers Philip Cashian, Rylan Gleave and Aileen Sweeney will join us online for a discussion about their new works which we hope to be able to present at a later date.
