Try Try Try is a percussion theatre piece about effort in a hostile world. The three players are pushed to their limits as they strive to meet the demands imposed upon them.
The performers take to a stage where rhythm and gesture form relationships, create tasks, and inspire conflict.
Taking inspiration from the late theatre of Samuel Beckett, the precise location and boundaries of this drama are unclear: is this a performance that takes place in a real space or only in the mind? Are these three separate figures or aspects of a single consciousness?
While these questions persist, the piece is grounded in the limits and potential of the human body, here explored through percussion performance and technique. This requires a certain kind of virtuosity in performance, as well as introducing more than a hint of humour.

£14 Standard /£10 (senior citizens)/£6 (jobseekers, full time students, disabled people)/Free (under 18, essential companions). Please note that tickets for events at The Lemon Tree are subject to a 10% booking fee.
There is also an option to Pay What You Can (PWYC), so that no one is excluded because of their financial circumstances.
You can thus choose to pay less than the recommended ticket prices if you can’t afford them. You can also choose to pay more, helping to support our activities commissioning new work and supporting local musicians and young people.
