One of the UK's foremost chamber collectives, Hebrides Ensemble, present Steve Reich's Grammy-winning Different Trains for string quartet and tape. The work reflects on the train journeys of the Jewish composer's American childhood during World War II and the very different trains he would have faced if he lived in Europe at the time. Fragments of sound clips, including interviews with Holocaust survivors, are transformed into musical material for the quartet.
