Flute Weekendwith Richard Craig and Margaret Preston

Two days of intensive flute classes and ensemble playing, including rehearsing and performing a specifically composed work for multiple flutes by Kenneth Dempster (with the support of Creative Scotland).

The course will look at classical flute technique and contemporary styles in an approachable and friendly atmosphere. Richard Craig and Margaret Preston will guide the players through workshops, performances of classical repertoire, as well directing classes in improvisation, breathing techniques, awareness of posture and the focus of the course: how to coax those unusual sounds from the flute. Get the most out of playing the flute!
