Ruth Kent
Choreographer, Ruth Kent, trained at Laban Centre London. Based in Aberdeenshire, Ruth teaches, performs and leads choreographic projects across the region. Currently she is working on performances with Xtreme Arts (National Theatre of Scotland/Aberdeen City) and Y-Dance. Previous choreographic work includes a massed community Thriller Event (Huntly Hairst 2009), Fractured duet (City Moves development project 2008), The Heart Dreams of Love (Site Specific duet, St Nicholas Kirk 2006), Me-As-A-Mama (Lemon Tree 2005), solo collaborations with Margaret Preston, flautist (2002-2003).
Ruth is delighted to be creating a new piece as part of East Coast Moves. "This Woman's Work" is a collaboration with Lighting Designer, Simon Gane, Musician, Ali Leith (Harp), performed by Dance Artists, Mhairi Allan and Lynn Brown.
