Charlotte Harding
Charlotte Harding is a young composer and saxophonist from East Yorkshire whose first major work, 'Voyage - A Concerto for Soprano Saxophone and Orchestra', was premiered by Richard Ingham and the University of St Andrews Music Society Orchestra in 2007. She has also written several ensemble and solo pieces, which fuse jazz, folk and contemporary idioms. Charlotte has recently been awarded a scholarship to study composition at the Royal College of Music with Mark Anthony Turnage.
As a player, Charlotte won the 'Outstanding Soloist Award' in the Swing Band category at the National Concert Band Finals in Glasgow in 2006 and continues to play in various ensembles in London. Over the last ten years, Charlotte has also performed in and written for her band 'the neumes' , who play their own unique style, based on pop, rock, jazz funk and folk.
