A private pre-premiere performance of David Ward's Quartet No 6 will take place on 10 November at Maitland and Halldis Mackie's house. It will be in aid of the Matthew Hay Project.
Foresterhill owes its existence to the vision of Professor Matthew Hay. In 1900, Professor Hay pointed to the slopes of Foresterhill as the ideal site for his vision of a joint hospital and medical education complex. The new Aberdeen Royal Infirmary was opened in 1936, to be followed two years later by the maternity hospital and medical school. The new building at Foresterhill will provide the finest clinical skills and anatomy facilities anywhere in the UK.
