2007 marks the 300th anniversary of the death of Dieterich Buxtehude, undoubtedly the greatest German composer in the generation preceding Bach and Handel. This programme will feature some of his extraordinarily expressive vocal music for voices and strings, including selections from his cycle of works relating to the body of Jesus (Membra Jesu) and his dramatic vocal concerto Der Herr ist mit Mir plus Bach Cantata 106 Actus Tragicus and a new work by Sally Beamish - Showings: Chamber version
