A student of Per Nørgård and Nicola LeFanu, Mealor’s music has been commissioned and performed at many festivals around the world by such ensembles as the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and the Britten Sinfonia, and has been broadcast on BBC Radio Three, Four, Japanese, Swedish and Danish Radios. He is Senior Lecturer in Music at the University of Aberdeen and is Artistic Director of both the Northop Festival of Music and the University of Aberdeen Music Prize (in association with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra) and is the University’s Concerts Coordinator. In 2003 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
