Symposia are a new-music group, created in 2002, from some of Scotland's best young instrumentalists to perform works written within the last 10 years. We have already commissioned and premiered some 40 works by (among others) Alasdair Spratt, Oliver Searle, Gordon McPherson, Matthew Rogers, Colin Broom, Gareth Williams, Graham Hair and J. Simon van der Walt. We are interested in developing and contributing to the - already considerable - cultural climate that currently exists in Glasgow, Scotland and across the UK.
