Andrew Cottee
Andrew Cottee studied at the Royal College of Music, during which time he was a finalist in the Shell/LSO competition. After graduating he freelanced with many orchestras including the BBC Symphony and London Philharmonic and as guest principal percussion with the London Symphony Orchestra. He also played with ensembles including the London Sinfonietta, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and the BBC Big Band. He now lives in Scotland and continues to work with the BBC Scottish and Scottish Chamber Orchestras among others.
Andrew is also an arranger. Highlights include a BBC Proms commission, a complete concert with the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra as part of the 2008 European Capital of Culture events and orchestrations for the film Beyond the Sea with Kevin Spacey. He has written for the BBC Concert, RTé Concert, Hallé and Irish Chamber Orchestras, soloists Alison Balsom, Curtis Stigers and Claire Martin and the percussion duo O Duo.
