For young composers aged 14-19

Digital delivery via Zoom
Spend some time developing your skills in composition with the help of professional composers Naomi Pinnock and Ailie Robertson who will guide you through the process of writing a piece of music from start to finish. You will write a trio for the French horn, viola and cello and it will be played by professional musicians from Red Note Ensemble. Red Note specialise in playing contemporary music and have lots of experience playing all different styles and types of music.
There are 10 places on the course and priority will be given to young people based in the north east of Scotland where sound is based.
To take part you will need a laptop or computer with music writing software and decent internet connection for the Zoom workshops.
We have sound laptops with Sibelius software we can loan participants based locally for the duration of the course. Please indicate on your application if you require this and we will contact you about collection and drop off.
This is an approximate course timetable – full details will be given upon registration.

We aim to end the course with some form of sharing or pre-recorded concert TBC.
