Bringing together performers and composers from across the world with local artists, soundfestival energises North East Scotland with an adventurous programme of new music featuring new commissions, collaborations, installations, talks, workshops and masterclasses.
This year's festival features a wide range of new works from composers including Ailie Robertson, David Fennessy, Philip Cashian, Tansy Davies, Pete Stollery, Siobhan Davies, Amble Skuse, Ben Lunn and Rylan Gleave.
Continuing our focus on ‘endangered instruments’ this year’s festival showcases the horn and will feature performances by horn-player Pip Eastop.
Events take place in a variety of venues across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire and throughout the festival there are opportunities to discover new music in informal spaces at late night sound sessions, lunchtime concerts, and family-friendly events including a popular promenade concert in Aberdeen Maritime Museum.
“distinctive - and brilliantly charismatic” (David Kettle, The Scotsman)
This year’s festival runs from 22 Oct-1 Nov 2020.
The full programme will be revealed in August.
