Laurence Perkins is one of Britain’s leading solo bassoonists. As principal bassoonist in Manchester Camerata he performed at the BBC Proms in London, and on tour in France, Portugal, Japan, Hong Kong and Australia.
He is a solo artist for the Hyperion label - his Bassoon Concertos CD was a leading recommendation for the Mozart Concerto performance on BBC Radio 3 ‘Record Review’. His other solo CDs for Hyperion include ‘The Playful Pachyderm’ with the New London Orchestra, and a new recording of Richard Strauss with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, to be released isn Autumn 2018.
