Sound & Musiques Démesurées residency sharing session
Phoenix Community Centre, Newton Dee Village
Thu 16 Feb 2017 | 3.30pm

Following a 3 day residency led by Juliet Fraser (soprano) and Maxime Echardour (percussion) with composers John de Simone (Scotland) and Stéphane Magnin (France) and local musicians from Clermont-Ferrand and Aberdeen, the artists will share their progress at the Phoenix Community Centre in Newton Dee Village where they have been working.

The composers and musicians will return to work with each other later in the year in Clermont-Ferrand in France. Their new works will be premiered in November at Musiques Démesurées in Clermont-Ferrand and then at this year’s soundfestival in Aberdeen.

This project is supported by Aberdeen City Council’s Twinning Programme and Diaphonique (a franco-british contemporary music fund supported by the Institut Français, the SACEM, the Bureau export de la musique, the British Council and the Ministère de la Culture et de la Communication).
